Happy New Year!
Wow, another year has past. They seem so much shorter than they used to be.
This is a great time to reflect on the previous year. I had a very good year both personally and professionally. My personal life has a great big joyful spot. That is my grandson. He brings me so much. More than I think my family even knows. I am so proud of him and his parents. He is perfect just the way he is. His parents are doing such a fine job of raising a child who will live and thrive in this century. Not an easy task. My grandson is independent, smart, perserverant, and handsome. He makes me laugh. He loves new experiences and seldom cries. I am lucky to have my son's family as part of my family. I love them lots!My youngest son is doing well too. He plans to marry in 2007. They are shooting for 7-7-07. I guess that is one way to remember your anniversary. They are living in Pacifica but plan to move to Martinez after the first of the year. Both my son and his fiance work very hard. They are starting their own business and are really making it work. I am very proud of both of them and I thank them for doing so much to help me. Jen takes care of my neck problem, (she is a massage therapist) and Brent and Jen help me around the house, cleaning floors etc. I love them lots!
My husband is wonderful. He has been my rock for thirty two years. In February we will have our thirty third wedding anniversary. We are both in good health and happy to be alive. We are still best friends and have a great life together. I just could not do the things that I do without his help and support. I love him lots!
My professional life as a teacher has been good as well. I am team teaching with a teacher who brings me a lot of joy. We laugh everyday! We are trying to make this year the best our students will ever have as far as learning is concerned. It is a very hard job but we both love what we do. That makes it all worthwhile.

My JPL Friends and Writing partners.
Our writing team is busy with another NASA project. We are in the middle of development of a Solar System unit. I have learned so much more about space. This has been one great ride for me. Our last set of lessons for the Cassini Mission to Saturn won a very prestigious award. We won the NASA Honors Group Acheivement Award. This is an award that is also given to scientists, engineers, and the like. Big surprise for all of us. We went to Pasadena to the Jet Propulsion Lab to recieve the award. (Pictured above)
I also met Buzz Aldrin this past year. Another big event in my life. This whole NASA connection has truly enriched my life in so many ways. Travel, meeting astronauts and some important scientists of our time, and making the best friends a person could ever have.
It has been a very good year indeed!
